RoSPA’s dedication to its work in UK and European Government and in local community has been a primary influence in enhancing safety for all over the last 90 years. For example, RoSPA was key to the introduction of seatbelt laws in 1983 and is continually working with Government agencies to improve road and driving standards in the UK.
In 1991, after five years of campaigning by RoSPA, the Government agreed to make it mandatory for all domestic appliances to be sold with plugs to reduce deaths by electrocution. For more information on the history of RoSPA’s work, you can visit www.rospa.com/history A lot of this work would not have been possible without the generous support of its Members and the public. But there is much more work to be done.
