  • How many children swallowed bleach?
  • Which age group are most likely to fall off ladders?
  • Which are the most common injuries? How many children fall off their bikes and hurt their heads?
  • How many 65 year olds fell off skateboards?
  • Which day of the week do most people hurt themselves rollerblading?

If these are the kind of questions you need to ask you can now get detailed information from the DTI's Home and Leisure Accident Surveillance System via RoSPA's information centre. New statistics are no longer being collected, but RoSPA has been given a copy of the DTI's Home and Leisure Accident Surveillance System database from 1978 to 2002.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has taken over the provision of UK home and leisure accident statistics from the Department of Trade and Industry who have funded the new information service. You can now search online for home and leisure accident statistics from 2000 to 2002.
