TEAMING UP FOR NEW SAFETY COURSE
Two top organisations are joining forces to provide a new course for a key qualification for health and safety professionals.
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and Norwich Union Risk Services are developing a joint National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health Diploma Part II course. This is replacing the old-style NEBOSH Diploma course and supports the Part I Diploma course provided by each organisation.
The aim is to gain joint NEBOSH accreditation for Part II by the end of the year. The first of the five modules will be held in March 1999, with delegates taking their Part II examinations in December 1999.
RoSPA Training Manager, John Phillips, said: "This qualification is well recognised within industry and is highly coveted by those working in the health and safety field.
"Successful completion of the Part II course work and examinations will be accepted by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health as evidence that the academic requirements have been met for admission as a full member of IOSH."
Teresa Cale, Development Manager for Norwich Union Risk Services, added: "By pooling our resources, RoSPA and NURS will both continue to deliver top quality training and we believe course delegates will value the added expertise which this joint venture will bring to their studies."
RoSPA and NURS will continue to provide their individual Part I courses.
