RoSPA’S SAFETY AND HEALTH EXPO WINNERS

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents has given away almost £3,000 in safety courses, following a free draw on its stand at the recent Safety and Health Expo 2004, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

The five winners are:

Frank Heathman, of Terra Nitrogen UK in Bristol, has won a place on RoSPA’s new course called Introduction to Behavioural Safety. This two-day course includes understanding behaviour in the workplace, the psychology of behaviour, role of management in relation to employee behaviour and effective behaviour change.

John Murphy, of Lifestyle Sports in Dublin, has won a place on RoSPA’s IOSH Managing Risk course. The four-day course involves introduction to risk, risk financing and risk monitoring and review.

Anthony Freda, of Bedford Training Group Ltd in Bedford, has won a place on RoSPA’s QSA Safety Awareness course. This one-day course includes the principals of the Quality Safety Audit system and the interpretation of audit reports.

Alan Grinyer, of St Regis Paper Company Ltd in Berkshire, has won a place on RoSPA’s IOSH Managing Client/Contractor Relationships course. The three-day course involves management of contract activities, contract review and the selection of a competent contractor.

Russell Bone, of Mite Cleaning in Hampshire, has won a place on RoSPA’s Safer People Handling Trainers course. This five-day course includes safer moving and handling techniques and problem solving, people handling assessments and the importance of documentation.
