RoSPA BRINGING HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING TO ABERDEEN

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents will be offering some of its most popular occupational health and safety training courses in Aberdeen in the new year.

It is part of RoSPA’s campaign to ensure high-quality training is easily available to businesses and organisations throughout the UK.

Errol Taylor, RoSPA Business Development Director, said: “We are responding to a demand from Aberdeen and other regions to provide training on the doorstep. Health and safety management is now a part of daily life for every business and organisation, no matter how large or small.

“We want to be sure companies can have easy access to top-class training, which will help to protect their workforces and improve business efficiency.”

Courses on offer in Aberdeen are:

  • IOSH Managing Safely - Ideal for managers and supervisors, it offers an excellent broad-based foundation in health and safety. Successful completion leads to accreditation by the Institution for Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate - It will help managers and supervisors address their increasingly complex and crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of employees, and remains arguably the best-regarded basic health and safety qualification available.
  • Manual Handling for Instructors and Assessors - RoSPA’s most popular course, run over five days, offers a cost-effective way to reduce back injuries as a trained assessor can disseminate best practice throughout the workforce.

They will initially be run in February and March, with other courses being provided according to demand. RoSPA’s Scottish Headquarters in Edinburgh provides a range of support services, including safety audits, consultancy and bespoke training programmes.
