Pendant Light Fittings
Twin 85°C PVC cord is usually adequate for light fittings. If metal fittings are to be used make sure a three-core flex is used. The weight of the light fitting may affect your choice of flex size, a 0.5 mm2 flex takes fittings up to 2 kg, a 0.75 mm2 flex takes fittings up to 3 kg in weight, and a 1.0 mm2 flex will support fittings up to 5 kg.
Note, however, that a standard ceiling rose should not be used for light fittings weighing more than 2.5 kg. For very heavy fittings (more than 5 kg) a supporting chain is necessary.
