School Assembly Plans - Using Road Safety Themes
The use of assemblies with a road safety theme can help to reinforce learning, help the children reflect and discuss incidents/accidents, meet people who can help them and explore the moral implications of their actions in various situations.

Theatre in Education
Theatre-in-Education (TiE) is often used to convey road safety education in schools.
S'Cool to be Safe was a national TiE project, sponsored by Toyota, focusing on areas of everyday life where children could be in danger, with an emphasis on road safety. Annual tours were delivered from 1999- 2002. The final tour was the subject of a formal evaluation.
Dramatic Impact ( PDF format 199kb) Guidelines for commissioning and implementing TiE for road safety officers and other professionals - was published in March 2003 and provides comprehensive information for those considering using TiE in schools.
TIE and Road Safety: Before and After Activities to Support TIE Visits
This Theatre-in-Education Resource Book has been designed to support teachers and other professionals in preparing for and following up visits by Theatre-in-Education (TIE) Companies performing on the subject of road safety.

The Laser Project
The LASER (Learning About Safety by Experiencing Risk) Project began at RoSPA in April 1999.
